West Los Angeles VA breaks ground on 374 units with help from Frank Gehry

The 374 new units are in addition to more than 600 housing units completed or under construction on the new North Campus. Once complete, the campus will feature lots of green space, walking paths, gyms, dog parks and computer rooms, among other amenities.

Gehry was joined at the groundbreaking by U.S. congressmen Ted Lieu and Brad Sherman. Also present were representatives from Century Housing, Thomas Safran & Associates, The Veterans Collective, The Core Companies and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, which are working collaboratively to meet the 1,200-unit goal.

The groundbreaking was celebrated with a formation flyover by WWII North American AT-6 fighter planes, courtesy of the Condor Squadron.
